500g of iron sulphate II or ferrous sulphate of analysis grade. It is the reducing agent for developing wet collodion. Extra-pure
1000ml of 4% USP collodion. Plain collodion is a mix of 99% alcohol, ether and nitrocellulose.
It's a very flamable product. It it highly recommended to carefuly read the safety data sheet for this product.
100g of pure silver nitrate.
Silver nitrate is used to sensitize wet collodion plates in 9% a solution.
Silver nitrate is a corrosive heavy metal salt and it can cause burns in contact with your skin or any other mucous membranes of your body. Handle carefully and wear gloves and goggles.
10 black lacquered aluminum plates. They come with a protective film to avoid scratches and dirt. Peel this plastic film, remove any dust particles that may have settled on the plate with a soft brush, and you are ready to pour your collodion.
It is important that the exact dimensions of the plates are specified when ordering. Most of us use modified film plate holders and the dimensions of the plates do not match the standard measurements. To ensure that you receive the right product we will need those measurements.
