946ml of glossy acrylic Liquitex varnish. This varnish is translucent and soluble in water when liquid. Once it dries it creates a completely waterproof and transparent layer. It doesn’t yellow over time and it’s UV resistant. Therefore, this varnish offers a very high protection to our plates.
It is a very good alternative to traditional varnishes when we use old collodion. Alcohol based varnishes are prone to dissolve the images created with reddish (old) collodion. It is highly recommended the use of this type of water based varnish.
If well preserved, this varnish should last for a long time.

1000ml of 4% USP collodion. Plain collodion is a mix of 99% alcohol, ether and nitrocellulose.
It's a very flamable product. It it highly recommended to carefuly read the safety data sheet for this product.

Silver nitrate baths used in the wet plate process are a 9% silver nitrate solution in distilled water. That means 90g of silver nitrate dissolved in one liter of distilled water. Once we prepare this mix, there is only one way to find out how much silver nitrate there is in the bath: we need to measure the specific density of the solution with a hydrometer.
A 9% silver nitrate bath has a specific density of 1,067g/cm3. If our bath has a lower density we will have to add silver nitrate to the mix

Folded measurements: 18x29x5cm
For plate sizes: 6x6 cm, 4×5″, 5×7″ and 8×10″ (6x6cm 10x12cm, 13x18cm, 20x25cm).
The slots are “V” shaped to safely hold the plates and prevent scratching the emulsion.
