The Becquerel daguerreotype workshop will be given on-line by Joaquin Paredes through the Zoom platform. Since it's a virtual workshop, we'll do two passes:
- 19th of June from 10-14h and 16-20h in Spanish schedule
- The 20th of June there will be another pass with a schedule focused on you being able to follow the workshop from South and Central America:
- Mexico, Guatemala... from 8-12h and 13-17h
- Peru, Chile, Colombia... from 9-13h and from 14-18h
- Venezuela, Bolivia... from 10-14h and 15-19h
- Uruguay, Argentina (BA)... from 11-15h and from 16-20h
During this workshop, we will learn all the necessary skills for making Becquerel daguerreotype plates (without mercury).

We will start from scratch: We will leark how to polish and prepare the copper and brass plates. How to silver-plate our own plates. We will sensitize, develop, fix and guild the daguerrotypes. And we will finally learn howo to case and preserve the plates.
In the morning:
- History and theory of the daguerreotype process.
- Preparation of a copper or brass plate: Cutting, polishing, cleaning, preparation of the silver plating solution, voltages...
- Silver polishing.
- Sensitizing
In the afternoon:
- Exposed, developed, fixed and turned to gold.
- Emcapsulation and conservation of the plates
